I have visited Mamma Linas many times, especially considering they are our client. But we were compelled to write about it now it has closed.
We get a call from one of our good friends who says they need help with the social media and marketing. That came naturally to us and we quickly established the restaurant's online and offline presence in many ways. That's what we do.
However, our work as a PR agency is so much easier when the products being offered are great too. That's exactly what we stumbled upon. When asking people about the venue, no one knew where it was, or anything about it. But the food on offer was extra ordinary.
Let's first start with the building. I a little tired with water marks on the ceiling and you can tell that some repairs were needed. One of the owners took note of this and painted a few walls and make a few improvements. It helped a lot. The place instantly had a more cosier feel.
The staff? The service was impeccable and no doubt down to the passion they show in their work.
Now to the best bits, the food. The first dish was saw was a seafood spaghetti. It looked divine being served up at the table in a crab shell. The smells were amazing too. People around the restaurant looked on in envy I can tell you. This was simply an amazing way to serve up a very delicate dish, full of flavour that had just the right balance needed.
Now to the pizza. I love pizza. Most people do. I have seen and eaten pizza that come in all shapes and sizes. This pizza was a perfect example of a classic Italian pizza. Not too thin like they do in Rome, but just perfect. The crust was delicious, the toppings were amazing, and the chef added his own home made chilli to it which added a little bit of heat. The dough was made fresh also. All in all this was an example of the perfect Italian pizza.
I would, and did, highly recommend Mamma Linas. It's sadly closed for now, not due to lack of trade. But rest assured it will be back and we are keeping an eye out for its return. Mamma Linas were one of the best Italian Restaurants we have dined at and will be sorely missed in the interim.
